Pick the size for where it is going, write it, and save or share the file.
The film is written on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to make it, and what comes out is an ordinary MP4 you can put anywhere.
Format is a row on the Film step, and the size in pixels is printed under it so you can see what you are about to get.

Draft is the one to reach for while you are still deciding. It is half Vertical’s width and a quarter of its pixels, so it writes in a fraction of the time, and every edit you are checking — the order of the days, whether that photograph landed on the right pass — is visible at 540 px. Write the real one once you are done arguing with it.
The format is stored with the trip, so a tour you set to YouTube stays set to YouTube.
The export screen says which part it is on: Getting the map and photos ready, then a counter of how much of the film is written, then Adding the music.
Stay on this screen while it writes. A phone that sleeps or switches to another app can stop the work partway through, and a film that stops partway is one you have to start again. Long films are long: a week-long tour at Vertical is minutes rather than seconds.
If the soundtrack is the only thing that fails, the film is still written — the screen offers Try the soundtrack again and Keep it without sound, rather than throwing the film away.
When it is written, a phone offers Save to Photos and Share, which goes straight to whatever you post with. On a Mac the button is Save a copy, and you say where it goes.
Once it is written, that is the file. Changing a map style or nudging a photo afterward changes nothing about the film you already have — it changes the next one you write.
