Redeem it on the website, then sign in to the app with the same address.
A How It Went code puts Premium on your account. The account then brings Premium
to every device you sign in on with it: iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android.
You redeem a code on the website, at my.howitwent.app/redeem. The app has no
field for one.
Without a code, you buy Premium in the app, or on the web at
howitwent.app/buy, which puts it on your account the same way.
Redeeming it
- Open the link that came with the code. It fills the code in for you. If you
only have the code, open my.howitwent.app/redeem
and type it: sixteen letters and digits, or a single word. Capitals don’t
matter.
- Enter the email address you use in the app, or the one you will use, and tap
Email me a sign-in code.
- Type the six-digit code from that email and tap Redeem.
The page then says You have Premium and names the address it’s on.
In the app
- On Your trips, open the menu at the top right and choose Settings.
- Under Account, tap Sign in, enter the same address, and type the code
we email you.
The Premium row, under Account once you are signed in, then reads You
have Premium. On your other devices, sign in with the same address and it’s
there too.
If it doesn’t work
- “That code doesn’t work.” The page says this for a mistyped code, for one
that has already been used, and for one past its last day. Check it against
the original first. In a sixteen-character code, O and 0 count as the same,
and so do I, L and 1.
- “This code is already on the account.” You redeemed it on this address
before, and there is nothing more to do.
- No email arrives. Look in your spam folder. If the address was mistyped, go
back with Use a different address.
- Premium doesn’t show in the app. Check that the app is signed in with the
address the page named: Settings, under Account, reads Signed in
as and the address.
